On the Direction of MOD, three hundred years old abandoned leprosy hospital land which consists of 3.5 acres was acquired by the Sri Lanka Army on 12th March 2012 in order to establish Ranaviru Resource Centre under the Directorate of Rehabilitation with the intention of collaboration with Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority to offer different vocational training modules for differently able war heroes. This Ranaviru Resource Centre was declared open by former Hon. Defense Secretary Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksha on 24th May 2013 on the invitation of Commander of the Army.
