Due to amalgamation and resizing process Regimental Headquarters supress and both 1st battalion and the 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps were amalgamated and established as Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps. The Newly appointed commanding officer of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps Col DLDD Jayasooriya and Second in Command Lt Col SN Hettigoda assumed duties with religious observances, best wishes and greetings.
