ZOOM CONFERENCE ON GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATION MATTERS

The Commander of 1 Corps and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, Major General P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc conducted a Zoom conference on 14 March 2026 with the General Officer Commanding of the 53 and 58 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commandants of Training Schools and Commanding Officers of all Under-Command Units of 1 Corps.

The conference was convened in line with the directives and policies issued by Army Headquarters. During the session, the Commander conducted a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation and provided clear guidance to ensure the effective execution of duties and responsibilities across all formations and units.

Emphasizing the critical importance of operational excellence, the Commander highlighted the need to maintain strong moral, physical and conceptual components to achieve a high level of operational readiness, discipline and efficiency. He stressed that these elements are essential in sustaining the professionalism and effectiveness of the force.

Extensive discussions were also held on logistical and administrative matters with particular attention given to improving the living standards of soldiers including accommodation and sanitary facilities. The Commander also underscored the importance of maintaining a hygienic environment and ensuring that all welfare facilities meet the required standards.

Furthermore, he directed all Commanders to implement appropriate measures to enhance the welfare of troops, while consistently safeguarding their well-being, morale, and professional standards. The Commander reiterated that the commitment to soldier welfare remains a fundamental responsibility of leadership at all levels.
