COMMADER 582 INFANTRY BRIGADE ASSUMING DUTIES

Colonel L R Amarasekara, assumed the office as the 17th Commander of 582 Infantry Brigade on 06 December 2025, amidst traditional military formalities at the 582 Infantry Brigade Headquarters at Horana.

The day’s proceeding commenced with the Guard Turnout presented to new Brigade Commander at the main entrance of the 582 Infantry Brigade Headquarters. Subsequently he was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers of Headquarters 582 Infantry Brigade, Officers of 1 SLLI and 21 SLSR.

Thereafter, amid religious rites and rituals, followed by the “Seth Pirith” chanting by Maha Sangha, Colonel L R Amarasekara assumed his new office by placing the signature symbolically on an official document at the auspicious time.
