TROOPS RESCUE 70 CIVILIANS FROM THREE FLOOD-AFFECTED VILLAGES IN UDUDUMBARA

Troops swiftly responded to urgent appeals from residents in the Ududumbara area and successfully rescued 70 people stranded due to severe weather conditions. The rescue operations were conducted in Kandegama, Madalanda, and Wadawalakanda—three villages located approximately 15 km from the Ududumbara Police Station.

Despite challenging terrain and continuous rainfall, the troops acted promptly to ensure the safety of all affected civilians. Their timely intervention helped evacuate vulnerable families to safer locations, demonstrating unwavering commitment to protecting lives during this critical situation.
