ARMY TROOPS RESTORE ESSENTIAL SERVICES AT MAHIYANGANYA NATIONAL HOSPITAL AFTER SEVERE FLOODING

Troops of the 1st Battalion Gajaba Regiment (06 x 135), under the 533 Brigade and Troops of Arty Training School - Minneriyaa ( 01 x 79 ) , were swiftly deployed to restore the badly affected National Hospital Mahiyanganya, which had been severely damaged and disordered due to intense flooding in the region.

The large-scale operation was conducted under the supervision of the 53 Division and the overall guidance of the Commander, 1 Corps. Troops worked tirelessly to clear debris, clean flooded areas, reorganize hospital facilities, and reestablish essential services that had been disrupted by the natural disaster.

The swift intervention of Army personnel has enabled the hospital to resume its critical functions, ensuring uninterrupted treatment and management of the large number of flood- and landslide-affected patients arriving from surrounding communities.
