58 INF Div Commander official Visit

Major General AMA Abayawardhana WWV RWP RSP ndc the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the 58 Infantry Division, paid his first official visit to the 582 Infantry Brigade, 1 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 21 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 04 July 2025.

At first, he arrived to the Archbishop’s House – Colombo, to witness the B Coy of 1 SLLI, who has deployed for the security of the Archbishop’s House - Colombo.

Then the GOC has visited the HQ 582 Inf Bde and co – located 21 SLSR battalion at Horana. Upon his arrival, the Commander of the 582 Inf Bde Brig LD Perera RWP RSP USP warmly welcome the GOC honored him in a Drive Pass by 21 SLSR troops at the Bde entrance. The Commander 582 Inf Bde briefed the roles, tasks and duties performed by the 582 Infantry Brigade and followed by the briefing of the CO 21 SLSR. The GOC addressed all the under-command troops and pose for a group photograph with Officers and Other Ranks followed with planting of Sapling.

Finally, the visit was concluded with the lunch hosted at the Officers’ Mess – 582 Inf Bde.
