OFFICIAL VISIT TO 5TH BATTALION THE GAMUNU WATCH

Brigadier W.A.J. Hemachandra RSP, psc, Hdmc, the Commander of the Airmobile Brigade, paid his first official visit to the 5th Battalion the Gamunu Watch, located at the Old Post Office building in Colombo on 22 May 2025.

The Brigade Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and all Officers of the 5th Battalion the Gamunu Watch. He was then escorted around the camp premises and took part in a formal tea gathering with all Officers and Other Ranks of the battalion.

Following the tea, the Brigade Commander attended a comprehensive briefing conducted by the Commanding Officer on the operational and administrative aspects of the unit. Brigade Commander addressed all the troops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and upholding the good will of the Sri Lanka Army and Airmobile Brigade.

The visit concluded with the signing the of visitors’ book by the Brigade Commander, marking the significance of first official visit.
