THIRD COMMANDER OF 1 CORPS RELINQUISHED THE OFFICE

Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, the 3rd Commander of 1 Corps relinquished his duties on 05 June 2023 during a formal military ceremony, held at the Headquarters 1 Corps, Kilinochchi.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the outgoing Commander received a Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Headquarters 1 Corps before he awarded with a Guard of Honour presented by troops of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Then he delivered the official handing-over documents at the office premises.

Thereafter, the Outgoing Commander posed for group photograph with the General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of 1 Corps.

Subsequently, he addressed the troops of 1 Corps at the "Nelumpiyasa" Convention Hall and thanked all for the support they extended during his tenure and urged them to continue their commitment in same spirit for the benefit and the reputation of the organization. Before relinquish the office formally he attended for all ranks tea with General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and other ranks at the Corporals’ Club, Headquarters 1 Corps.
