ARMY TROOPS DONATES BLOOD FOR THE PATIENTS IN KILINOCHCHI HOSPITAL

Responding for the request made by the Director of General Hospital, Kilinochchi, a blood donation programme was conducted on 24 July 2022 at the Army Base Hospital-Kilinochchi. The programme was co-sponsored by the HQ 1 Corps and Army Base Hospital, Kilinochchi.

Total no of 155 officers and other ranks from HQ 1 Corps and the affiliated Logistics Units, 57 Infantry Division, 66 Infantry Division, 4 MIC, B Squadron of 5 SLAC and Police Station, Kilinochchi were volunteered to donate their blood for the benefit of the community in Kilinochchi.

Dr. Achana Obris, Medical Officer of Blood Bank, Kilinochchi and her team provided the required technical assistance for the programme which was closely supervised by the Brigadier Asela Amarasekara, Brigadier Admin & Quartering - HQ 1 Corps and Major Eranda Senevirathna, Officer Commanding - Army Base Hospital, Kilinochchi.

At the end of the programme, staff of the General Hospital Kilinochchi did not forget to appreciate the generosity and the support given by the Army for the saving of lives of people in Kilinochchi.
