Inaguration Ceremony

Inauguration Ceremony of the Newly Raised 1 Corps which is organised with the directions of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army was held on 17 October 2021 at Headquarters Gajaba Regiment premises in Saliyapura, Anuaradhapura.

The Headquarters building of the newly raised 1 Corps at Kilinochchi was ceremonially opened on 17 October 2021 by General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff, and Commander of the Army as chief guest on the invitation of Major General Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc, Commander, 1 Corps.

Major General HP Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc the newly-appointed Commander of 1 Corps - Kilinochchi commenced his duties as 1st Commander of 1 Corps by placing his signature on an official document on 18 October 2021 at his office.
