VISIT OF GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDEING 58 INFANTRY DIVISION TO THE 1ST BATTALION SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT

Major General PKWWMJSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc upon assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding 58 Infantry Division made his inaugural visit to the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (1 SLSR), located at Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Ambepussa on 10 June 2025.

GOC was warmly welcomed at the Battalion Headquarters by Major MANC Wickramasinghe RWP RSP USP psc Commanding Officer of 1 SLSR. The official visit commenced with comprehensive operational and administrative briefing presented by CO, detailing current capabilities, deployment, and welfare initiatives of the battalion.

Affer the briefing GOC addressed the all ranks emphasizing importance of maintaining high standards of discipline and upholding the honour and reputation of the Sri Lanka Army.

As a symbolic gesture to mark his visit GOC planted a mango sapling within the camp premises.

Brigadier MDSN Karunaratna psc Commander of the 583 infantry Brigade along with other Senior Officers of the 58 Infantry Division also attended the visit.
