THE VISIT OF COMMANDER 1 CORPS TO THE 58 INFANTRY DIVISION

The Commander 1 Corps Major General Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc made his first visit to 58 Infantry Division on 06 November 2021 after establishment of the 1 Corps. The Commander 1 Corps granted a drive pass at the main entrance and Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding of 58 Infantry Division welcomed the Commander 1 Corps to 58 Infantry Division with Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Divisional Staff Officers.

In line with formalities the group photograph was taken with the Commander 1 Corps and he was also invited to leave memories by planting a sapling at the Officers' Mess premises. After that Commander 1 Corps addressed the troops of the Division and gave away a memento (Replica of a RAPTOR Craft) to the Commander 1 Corps. Later briefing was conducted by the GOC and Brigade Commanders at the Divisional Conference Hall. Finally, with the signing of visitor’s book by Commander 1 Corps, the day’s events came to an end.
