TROOPS OF 1 CORPS EDUCATED ON ‘RULES OF ENGAGEMENT’

A timely needed lecture series on “Rules of Engagement”, were conducted at the Headquarters 1 Corps on 11 and 12 January 2023.

The programme was conducted by Captain SATH Dias SLAGSC, Legal Officer of 1 Corps under the guidance of the Commander 1 Corps, Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc. During the programme, participants were educated on Sri Lanka's Legal System, Judicial Procedure, Classification of Law, Court Hierarchy, Coordination between Tri Forces and the Police under the existing Legal framework, Public Security Ordinance and Emergency Law and Emergency Regulations, International Humanitarian Law, Fundamental Rights and Human Right and Rules of Engagement of Internal Security Situation.

Apart from the in-house participants, officers and other ranks from subordinate formations of 1 Corps also joined with the lecture via zoom technology. Accordingly, total of 98 x 2212 officers and other ranks of 1 Corps had been benefitted by the same.
