TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN AND GREENHOUSE CULTIVATION

Planting of "Mee"(Madhuca longifolia) saplings by the troops at Headquarter 1 Corps has initiated with 300 "Mee" trees along the perimeter fence of the camp adjoining to Iranamadu tank, on 15 December 2021. The farmers in the Kilinochchi District will benefited with successful harvest from this attempt.

Major General Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc, Commander of 1 Corps has initiated this timely activity with planting the first sapling. Brigadier Chandimal Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Brigadier General Staff of 1 Corps, Brigadier Asela Amarasekara USP, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of 1 Corps, Senior Staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarter - 1 Corps have present this occasion and contributed their efforts to continue.

The Commander 1 Corps has visited the Greenhouse project at the camp premises on the same day and instructed to elevate the agriculture project and the manufacturing of organic fertilizer as directed by the Commander of the Army.
