SRI LANKAN ARMY DELEGATION VISIT TO THE COLLEGE OF MILITARY ENGINEERING - PUNE

Major General Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc, Commander 1 Corps and other members of the Sri Lanka Army delagation who attended the 9th Staff Talk made a visit to College of Military Engineering (CME) Pune during their stay. The delegation was exposed to the training infrastructure at CME utilized for imparting training for student officers. CME conducts various courses such as Cadet Training, B Tech, Diploma, Masters and PhD etc.

College of Military Engineering has established in 28 September 1943 at Roorkee named as School of Military Engineering. Few years later it was moved to the Pune in 1948. Courses were officially commenced on 02 June 1948. In November 1951 the school was renamed as College of Military Engineering. Since then, over last 75 years College is producing Officers and Other Ranks with sound engineering knowledge to Indian Army and friendly foreign nations as well. By now 18 x Sri Lankan Officers, 2 x Officer Cadets and 2 x Other Ranks are undergoing various courses at the college.
