SRI LANKAN ARMY DELEGATION TEAM VISIT TO THE NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY (NDA) - PUNE

The Sri Lankan delegation who attended for the 9th Staff Talks visited NDA during their visit. The aim of the visit was to enhance cooperation as part of the 'Training Exchange Programme' between both countries which is a part of India-Sri Lanka bilateral defence cooperation. The delegation members were briefed on the training methodology and associated infrastructure at NDA. Presently 11 x Sri Lankan Officer Cadets those who following course have the opportunity to interact with delegation members at the Cadets’ Mess.

The National Defence Academy is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services; the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force train together before they proceed to respective service academies for further pre-commission training. Life of the Cadets in the Academy is more challenging. Only 350 Cadets are selecting per course out of 400,000 applicants. Presently nearly 2066 Cadets are undergoing training at the NDA. Up to now more than 36,000 Cadets are passed out from the Academy.
