SOLDIERS EDUCATED ON BREAST CANCERS

A series of insightful lectures on breast cancer, organized by the Sri Lanka Army Sava Vinita Unit, was successfully held at the 1 Corps Headquarters on 02 June 2025 under the guidance of the Adjutant General Branch. The programme focused on raising awareness about the breast cancer and the importance of early detection and prevention.

The event witnessed the participation of Brigadier Jude Kariyakarawana (Brigadier General Staff), Colonel Buddhika Jayasuriya (Colonel Coordinator), and17 x 343 male and female officers and other ranks from 1 Corps and 55 Division. Their active engagement reflected the Army strong commitment to health education.

As a token of gratitude, Major General W.M.P.M. Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, Commander 1 Corps, presented a commemorative memento to Dr. Chula Gunasinghe and the Indira Cancer Trust team for their invaluable, voluntary contribution.
