SECOND COMMANDER OF 1 CORPS RELINQUISED THE OFFICE

Major General Crishantha Gnanaratne ndc psc, the 2nd Commander of 1 Corps relinquished his duties on 15 December 2022 during a formal military ceremony, held at the Headquarters 1 Corps, Kilinochchi.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the outgoing Commander received a Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Headquarters 1 Corps before he awarded with a Guard of Honour presented by troops of 2 Commando Regiment.

Thereafter, the Outgoing Commander posed for group photograph with the General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and staff officers of 1 Corps.

Subsequently, he addressed the troops of 1 Corps at the "Nelumpiyasa" Convention Hall and shared important experience of his 34 years long illustrated career and thanked all for the support they extended during his tenure and urged them to continue their commitment in same spirit for the benefit and the reputation of the organization. At the end of the troop address Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin & Quartering of 1 Corps jointly presented a memento to the outgoing Commander 1 Corps which symbolized the gratitude of all members of 1 Corps in respect of the excellent leadership he rendered for the 1 Corps. Before relinquish the office formally he attended for all ranks tea with General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and other ranks at the Corporals’ Club, Headquarters 1 Corps.
