RELIGIOUS PROGRAMMES TO PAY TRIBUTE TO ALL VICTIMS, FALLEN WAR HEROES AND ALL RACES.

Under the guidance of Director General General Staff (DGGS) and Commander 1 Corps, Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, troops of the 1 Corps joined a series of religious programmes in an appropriate manner to pay tribute to all victims of the humanitarian operations and to invoke blessings on 1 Corps troops and All Races living in kilinochchi area.

Prayers and blessings at Lumbini Buddhist Temple at Kilinochchi, Murugan Hindu Temple at Murukandy, Masjidus Salam Jumma mosque at Kilinochchi, Amman Hindu Temple at Iranamadu, St Theresa Church at Kilinochchi invoked blessings on 1 Corps personnel, transferred merits to all fallen War Heroes and All Races.

Similarly, necessary arrangement for this series of religious programmes were properly arranged by Headquarters 1 Corps and its affiliated Logistics Units.

Brigadier PCL Gunawardana RWP RSP psc, Brigadier General Staff of Headquarters 1 Corps together with many Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the day’s religious programmes. He also gave away symbolic gifts and 'Pirikara' to members of the clergy who conducted those blessings.
