OFFICIAL VISIT TO AIRMOBILE TRAINING SCHOOL

Brigadier W.A.J. Hemachandra RSP, psc, Hdmc, the Commander of the Airmobile Brigade, paid his first official visit to the Airmobile Training School, located at Nikawewa on 28 May 2025.

During the official visit, the Brigade Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commandant, Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and all Officers of the Airmobile Training School. He was then provided with a detailed briefing by the Commandant and Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry on all training related aspects of the Training School.

To commemorate the official visit a sapling was planted and the Brigade Commander visited the training school where he observed the battalion training of the 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Moreover, the Brigade Commander addressed all the instructor Officers and instructor Other Ranks of the Airmobile Training School. Further Brigade Commander addressed all the training troops seperately of the 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry emphasizing the vital importance of rigorous training for the troops of the Sri Lanka Army and the Airmobile Brigade.The visit concluded with a formal lunch attended by the Officers Mess of the Airmobile Training School.
