NEWLY APPOINTED GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING - 53 INFANTRY DIVISION (RSF) ASSUMES OFFICE

Maj Gen MTI Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc assumed office as the 31st General Officer Commanding of the prestigious 53 Infantry Division (RSF) on Thursday (18) July 2024.

Upon his arrival at the main entrance greeted him with a 'Guard Turnout' and followed by colourful ceremonial 'Guard of Honour' were also presented by the 5 GW troops. After a while, incoming General Officer Commanding put his signature on an official document amidst religious blessings signifying the acceptance of new office as the 31st General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division (RSF).

Thereafter, General Officer Commanding plant a 'White Sandal Wood' sapling in order to mark this significant occasion as well as he posed for photographs with all Officers of under command Brigades, Battalions and with all Other Ranks of the Div Staff.

Next segment of the ceremony was troop address and followed by an all rank tea party held at the Strikers' Bay. During the tea party General Officer Commanding had a cordial interaction with all men who were presented under command Brigades, Battalions to the tea party. Finally, General Officer Commanding had a cordial interaction with all under command Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Officers - Div Staff at the conference hall.

Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Colonel GS, Col AQ, Col Coord and Senior Officers of 53 Division, Commanding Officers and a few Senior Officers from Special Forces were also presented for the ceremony.
