NEWLY APPOINTED BRIGADE COMMANDER OF 582 INFANTRY BRIGADE ASSUMES DUTIES

Brigadier S W R Prasanna RWP RSP USP, assumed the office as the 14th Commander of 582 Infantry Brigade on 27 July 2023, amidst traditional military formalities at the 582 Infantry Brigade Headquarters at Horana.

The day’s proceeding commenced with the Guard Turnout presented to new Brigade Commander at the main entrance of the 582 Infantry Brigade Headquarters. Subsequently he was warmly welcomed by Senior Staff Officer - 582 Infantry Brigade, CO - 1 SLLI, CO -9 GW and other Staff Officers of Headquarters 582 Infantry Brigade.

Thereafter, amid religious rites and rituals, followed by the “Seth Pirith” chanting by Maha Sangha, Brigadier S W R Prasanna RWP RSP USP assumed his new office by placing the signature symbolically on an official document at the auspicious minute.

Afterwards according to the agenda the Brigade Commander planted a sapling and pose for group photograph with Commanding Officers, Staff officers and all ranks of 582 Infantry Brigade.
