GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 58 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS 1 BATTALION SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT

The General Officer Commanding of 58 Infantry Division, Major General CA Rajapaksha RSP made an official visit to the 1 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 24 July 2024 in order to witnessed the combat readiness of the battalion.

The GOC received a warm welcome upon arrival from the Commanding Officer, Lt Col TKE Madawala USP psc Lsc, together with Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander 583 Infantry Brigade.

During the visit, GOC witness the equipment displays of the SAR & Riot Control Teams and Commanding Officer, 1 SLSR briefed the combat and disaster response readiness of the battalion. Afterwards, GOC addressed the troops by appreciating the duties carried out by the battalion during they deployed at Colombo and emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of discipline among all Ranks while stressing the need to raise awareness about illegal activities. Terminating the day event, he penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book of 1 SLSR.
