GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 53 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS AT 533 INFANTRY BRIGADE

Major General MTI Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division visited the 533 Infantry Brigade on 24 July 2024.

Upon his arrival, the troops of 6 SLLI, the battalion which is under 533 Infantry Brigade accorded a guard turnout to the General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division. The overlooking Brigade Commander of 533 Infantry Brigade Colonel BDTD Jayarathne psc together with Brigade staff and Commanding Officers of 6 SLLI, 1 GR and 22 GR welcomed the General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division.

During the visit, the General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division engaged in cordial interaction with the officers and other rankers and he posed for a group photograph, all ranks tea party. The headquarters 533 Infantry Brigade and under command battalions briefing were consisting with deployment, duties and responsibilities as the Urban Operation Brigade of the Reserve Strike Force under the 53 Infantry Division. During the briefing, General Officer Commanding instructed to open the horizon of Commanding Officers to train their troops focusing requirement of the Commander of the Army. Further during camp visit General Officer Commanding instructed to development of living areas and welfare facilities in the camp. The event concluded with a lunch at Officers’ Mess of Headquarters 533 Infantry Brigade with all officers of the 533 Infantry Brigade.

Finally, the General Officer Commanding of 53 Infantry Division penned down some complementary remarks in the visitors’ book.
