FORMAL MILITARY CEREMONY BIDS FAREWELL TO OUTGOING`GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 58 INFANTRY DIVISION

58 Infantry Division bid farewell to its outgoing General Officer Commanding, Major General CA Rajapaksha RSP on 14 September 2024. 58 Infantry Division big salute on his retirement at the end of more than 35 years of active service as the most intellectually iconic feature of the Sri Lanka Army.

The days’ programme commenced with the arrival on Major General Chinthaka Rajapaksha and he was welcomed by the Col MMW Rupasinghe Col Admin and Quatrain following a Guard Turnout. The Colourful Guard of Honour was reviewed by the outgoing General Officer Commanding, accompanied by the Parade Commander together with Col LR Amarasekara, Colonel General Staff in accordance with military traditions. An address of All-Ranks by the outgoing GOC and All Rank tea culminated the day event. Brigade Commanders of under Commanders brigades, Commandant- Battalion training school of 58 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers and Other rankers participated to the day events.
