FERTILIZING PROJECT FOR RED SANDALWOOD PLANTATION AT 53 INFANTRY DIVISION (RSF)

According to the concept of Major General MAM Dias RWP RSP USP psc who served as GOC from 02.01.2014 to 18.01.2016 of the 53 Infantry Division (RSF), Red Sandalwood sapling planted on 29 October 2015 near to the main gate, selected place of land in this HQ premises. According to Environmentalists opinion this is the largest amount (More than four hundred) of Red Sandlewood plants planted one place in Sri Lanka, and believe that it is also the largest amount of Red Sandalwood plants planted in one place in South Asia.

Under the guidance of Major General PGPS Ratnayake RWP RSP ndc - GOC 53 Inf Div (RSF), Senior Official of Hirujaya Plantation pvt Ltd agreed to give the sponsorship for providing advice, technical knowledge, fertilizing and agro-medicines. Furthermore, on 11.03.2024, the required fertilizer was applied for these plants free of charge and a separate data warehouse was prepared for each plant by numbering the trees. free plants and technical assistance and other necessary needs will be given as a donation to the Sri Lanka Army without any expectation of profit in future under the sponsorship of Hirujaya Plants pvt Ltd.

The Commander and other staff of 53 Inf Div were looking forward to endorsement on the basic knowledge and its values about these plants to the next generation.
