Brigadier (Dr) WHUD Wijeratne, Director General Army Health Services, paid an official visit to the Army Base Hospital in Kilinochchi on 23 November 2024 to evaluate its operations and receive an overview of its current performance.
Upon arrival, the Director was honoured with a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Major (Dr) Chandima Jayasinghe, the Officer Commanding of the Army Base Hospital - Kilinochchi. The Officer Commanding delivered a comprehensive briefing on the hospital’s facilities and services, emphasizing its critical role in providing healthcare to Army personnel and their families.
During the visit, the Director inspected several key areas of the hospital, including the OPD and ETU services, dental section, x-ray unit, laboratory, outdoor pharmacy, and the ward complex consisting of five wards. The facility, which has a capacity of 45 beds, continues to prioritize effective medical care for Army personnel and their dependents.
Brigadier (Dr) Wijeratne concluded his visit by joining a lunch at Officers' Mess and writing a message in the visitors’ book, commending the hospital staff for their unwavering commitment to delivering high quality healthcare services to the Sri Lanka Army.
