COMMANDER'S OFFICIAL VISIT TO 582 INFANTRY BRIGADE AND 5 GEMUNU WATCH BATTALION

Major General W M P M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu - Commander 1 Corps, visited the TAC HQ 582 Infantry Brigade, located at Old Army Headquarters Building, Colombo and 5th Battalion the Gamunu Watch deployed at Old Post Office building, Colombo on 08th April 2025.

Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier M L D S Molligoda USP psc, Commander - 582 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of 582 Infantry Brigade. The visit included a detailed briefing by the Commander -582 Infantry Brigade, on the deployments, tasks, duties and responsibilities.

During the visit Major General W M P M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu - Commander 1 Corps delivered an inspiring address to the Officers and Other ranks of 582 Infantry Brigade, 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 21st Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 5th Battalion the Gamunu Watch. Furthermore, he signed visitors’ book in remembrance of his event.

Before the culmination of the event, the Commander - 1 Corps attended an All -Ranks tea at the 5th Battalion the Gamunu Watch.
