THE COMMANDER SIGNAL BRIGADE MADE HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO 9 REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS.

The Commander Signal Brigade, Colonel HDJP Weerathunga visited 9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Iranamadu on 5th April 2023. This was his maiden visit to the 9th Regiment after assuming duties as the Commander Signal Brigade.

Lt Col BMMB Herath RSP USP, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Colonel HDJP Weerathunga on arrival and subsequently a ceremonial guard turnout was presented at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Then the commanding officer conduct a comprehensive briefing on the state of communication in 1 Corps and there, the brigade commander had a discussion on communication issues with commanding officer , divisional signal officers and brigade signal officers.

After that the Brigade Commander planted a mango sapling to mark his visit followed by a group photograph.

Later the Brigade Commander addressed the troops on the challenges which we are going to face future with the transformation towards EW unit in Sri Lanka Signal Corps. Subsequently he visited the training lab. Then he joined for an all ranks tea party where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks.

Before concluding the day’s itinerary, The Commander Signal Brigade with all officers sat for dinner at the ‘Lake Side’ holiday bungalow and left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the Visitors’ Book before the culmination of the proceedings.
