COMMANDER AIRMOBILE BRIGADE ASSUMED DUTIES

Brigadier WAJ Hemachandra RSP psc Hdmc of the Gajaba Regiment, officially assumed duties as the 26th Commander of the Airmobile Brigade in Velankulam on Friday (16 May), amidst traditional military formalities and religious observances.

Upon his arrival, the newly appointed Brigade Commander was accorded a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed at the Brigade Headquarters. He ceremonially signed an official document, symbolizing the formal assumption of duties, in the presence of religious dignitaries.

The event was further marked by a troop address, the planting of a sapling, and an all-ranks tea arrangement. The ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Airmobile Training School, Commanding Officers of the 3 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 3 Gajaba Regiment, 1 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, as well as senior Brigade.
