COMMANDER OF 1 CORPS RELINQUISHED THE OFFICE

The formal relinquishment of duties by the Commander, 1 Corps, Major General KHMS Wickramaratne RSP, took place on 03 January 2026 at the 1 Corps Headquarters. In honour of the occasion, a simple yet dignified ceremonial programme was organized.

Accordingly, a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour were accorded to the outgoing Corps Commander by the troops of 3rd Gajaba Regiment. Then the Commander delivered the official documents at the office premises.

Thereafter, the Outgoing Commander posed for group photograph with the General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of 1 Corps.

Subsequently, the Corps Commander addressed all ranks at the Corps Auditorium, during which he extended his sincere appreciation to everyone for the cooperation and support rendered to him throughout his tenure. He further emphasized the importance of continuing to perform duties with dedication and commitment towards the future progress and development of the 1 Corps.
