COMMANDER 1 CORPS INSPECTED THE ORGANIC FERTILIZER PROJECT IN THE HEADQUARTER

As per the directions of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Head of the Green Agriculture Operation Center (GAOC), Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, and under the supervision of Major General Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc, Commander, 1 Corps, troops of the HQ 1 Corps have initiated the organic fertilizer production site from mid December 2021, in order to promote the idea of ‘Green Agriculture' perceptions.

The Corps Commander visited and inspected the organic fertilizer production site on 26 February 2022 and examined the production process as well as the recently installed machinery to produce compost fertilizer quickly and effectively. Nearly 100 metric tons of fertilizer have been produced so far. Senior Officers of Headquarters 1 Corps joined with him during the visit.
