ASSUMING DUTIES OF COMMANDER 532 INFANTRY BRIGADE (RSF)

Brigadier GDSM Alwis RWP RSP of the Gemunu Watch assumed the office as 14th Commander of the 532 Infantry Brigade (RSF) in Mawanagama, Sandunpura on 13 January 2023, amid religious rituals and military formalities. A formal Guard Turnout was presented to the newly appointed Brigade Commander at the main entrance of Headquarters 532 Infantry Brigade (RSF) by 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops.

Afterwards, He assumed office by symbolically placing his signature on an official document amid ‘Pirith’ chanting by the Maha Sangha. Soon after assumption of duties, Brigadier Medanka Alwis addressed officers and other ranks of the Brigade Headquarters and set out his vision in future.
