This year's Independence Day Parade saw the debut of the Airmobile Brigade, which is regarded as an honor for its bravery and credibility in both war and peace. Another speciality was that the Airmobile troops had their first opportunity to wear the newly introduced unique airmobile uniform for the parade. This uniform delivers a unique identity to the airmobile troops, and it achieves one of the ‘Core 4R Objectives’ of the publication, “Towards a Dazzling Future”, “Respectable”, which was derived from the ‘Core 5R Objectives’ of the Commander of the Army “Way Forward Strategy.”
The troops of the 24th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, the 12th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, the 5th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch, the 3rd Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, and the 1st Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment represented the Airmobile Brigade at the Independence Day celebration held on the 04th of February, 2022. Major Pramith Kodithuwakku of the 12th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment commanded the Airmobile troops at the parade and was accompanied by Warrant Officer, I MGSS Basnayake as the Regimental Sergeant Major.
