In alignment with the visionary leadership of the Commander of the Army, troops of the 1st Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (1 SLSR), under the 583 Infantry Brigade of the 58 Infantry Division, have successfully completed the construction of a new house for a family in need in the Loluwagoda area.
The deserving family had long been grappling with severe financial difficulties and inadequate housing. Demonstrating the Army’s continued dedication to community welfare, the house was officially handed over on 10 June 2025 during a special ceremony.
Major General PKWWMJSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 58 Infantry Division, attended the event as the Chief Guest and formally presented the house to the family.
The project was executed under the guidance and supervision of Major MANC Wickramasinghe RWP RSP USP psc, Commanding Officer of 1 SLSR. The initiative was made possible through the combined efforts of the battalion's troops and generous contributions both material and financial from civil donors.
Adding further significance to the event, Brigadier MDSN Karunaratna psc, Commander 583 Infantry Brigade, along with senior officers of 58 Infantry Division, also participated in the ceremony
