In commemoration of the Noble Sambuddha Themagula, Headquarters of 58 Infantry Division had organized several religious activities. Thereby a cow surrendered for death was set free to pray supreme bliss of Nibbana by Mrs Sara Yapa, the mother of Maj Samanthilaka Sepala Dahanayake who served in SF Regiment and subsequently performing his duties in 3rd Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion has sacrificed his life for the motherland.
Later, an almsgiving programme had been conducted. Subsequently, Bodhi Poja was held in the evening and a statue of a Lord Buddha was taken along with procession and pledged to Abhayarama Viharaya. In addition to that creatively decorated Vesak Lantern was displayed in Headquarters 1 Corps Vesak Zone. Further, the main entrance of 58 Infantry Division and the camp premises were decorated with traditional Vesak decorations.
