53 DIVISION ENGAGE IN RESCUE EFFORTS IN YAHANGALA, MAHIYANGANAYA

Special Infantry Operations Teams (SIOT) attached to the 53 Division have been actively engaged in rescue and relief operations in the Yahangala area of Mahiyanganaya, following the severe landslides triggered by recent adverse weather conditions.

Responding promptly to the emergency, the troops committed their maximum effort to assist the affected families, ensuring their safety and providing immediate support, during the clearing operations.

Despite challenging terrain and unstable ground conditions, SIOT teams continued their mission with determination and professionalism.
