1ST SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY REGIMENT CONSTRUCTS NEW HOUSE FOR NEEDY FAMILY

A newly constructed house was erected by the troops of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry for a needy family in Ingiriya area with sponsorship provided by Honorable Manane Sirinanda Thero - Ingiriya, Nambapana Samadhi Dharma Nikethanaramaya. The newly constructed house was vested in the beneficiary on 02nd April 2025 during a brief ceremony. The event was honored by the participations of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 58 Infantry Division, Major General JKR Jayakody RWP USP.

The Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry Lieutenant Colonel AS Rajarathna RWP RSP USP Lsc SLLI took the initiative to complete this house using technical skills and manpower assistance given by the troops of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

During the worming ceremony the house key were symbolically handed over to the beneficiary by the Major General JKR Jayakody RWP USP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 58 Infantry Division.

Brigadier MLDS Molligoda USP psc, Brigade Commander 582 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Other Ranks and residents in the area were among participants in the worming ceremony.
