1 CORPS LAUNCHED AN ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANING PROGRAMME & PROVIDED DELICIOUS LUNCH TO RESIDENTS OF THE KILINOCHCHI AREA

As part of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Programme,’ the Headquarters of 1 Corps launched a comprehensive cleaning initiative on 1 Feb 2025. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Major General MTI Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander of 1 Corps. In order to demonstrates a strong commitment to maintain the government policy of Clean Sri Lanka. The Officers of 1 Corps, Other Ranks and civilians actively taken part in this event, to enhance the surrounding.

Subsequently, Troops of 1 Corps extended their generosity by providing a delicious lunch to 100 needy and elderly people of the Kilinochchi area. This thoughtful gesture not only addressed immediate needs but also fostered a sense of community and goodwill. The local community highly appreciated the kindness shown by the troops and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this event. Their words of thanks reflected the positive impact of this initiative, strengthening the bond between the military and the community.
