MAJOR GENERAL K V N P PREMARATNE RSP USP psc ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 27th COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS.

Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 27th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) following military formalities and religious blessings at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Borella on Thursday 12 December 2024.

Major General Nilantha Premaratne was welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier P M S Karunaratne psc. Upon the arrival of the newly appointed Colonel Commandant the proceedings were followed by a Guard turn out, Guard of honor and laying of flower wreath to the war heroine’s monument.

Subsequently Major General Nilantha Premaratne in his new office placed the signature in a formal document symbolizing the assumption of duties as the Colonel Commandant and he addressed the troops. Further, the days programme was included an all rank tea, and a conference with the participation of all staff officers of the RC SLAWC at the conference hall.

At present Major General Nilantha Premaratne also holding the appointment as the Commander Security Forces (EAST). He has served a number of other senior key appointments in the capacities of operational, administrative and staff across the country after his enlistment to the Sri Lanka Army.
