SLAWC NEW COLONEL COMMANADANT ASSUMES DUTIES

The Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army Major General C S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG assumed duties as the 26th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps on 23 October 2024 at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps.

The programme commenced in accordance with the military traditions. Major General Chamila Munasinghe was welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier P M S Karunaratne psc was honoured by a guard turn out on his arrival. After a floral tribute was paid at the War Heroines Monument in memory of all valiant Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

Afterwards, he received the salute presented by SLAWC troops at the parade square. The charming and dignified military Guard of Honour was reviewed by the newly appointed Colonel Commandant and was accompanied by the Parade Commander together with Centre Commandant following the military traditions.

Subsequently, Major General Chamila Munasinghe in his new office placed the signature in a formal document symbolizing the assumption of duties as the Colonel Commandant and he addressed the troops.
