The Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps bid farewell to the former General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Major General S Katurimudali RSP ndc psc on 20 October 2024, who retired after serving more than 35 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Centre, Borella.
According to military traditions, Brigadier S Karunaratne psc Centre Commandant RC SLAWC, welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, he was accompanied to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour. After a while, he was invited to commemorate the fallen War Heroes at the SLAWC war heroes’ monument.
Later in the day, he was joined all ranks for refreshments where he shared a few thoughts with the attendees.
During the ceremony, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment Centre extended their heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing distinguished senior officer for his commitment and dedication to the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps and wished him a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and prosperous life.
At the end, a glamorous mess night was arranged and to recognize his military leadership and unparalleled contribution to the Army, a special gift was presented to the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment, by Brigadier Sanjaya Karunaratne Centre Commandant SLAWC during the formal Dinner.
With utmost respect Maj Gen Senaka Kasturimudali the outgoing Colonel Commandant re gifted this special gift for future betterment of the Officers ‘Mess of SLAWC.
