SLAWC COLONEL COMMANDANT VISITS HIS BATTALIONS PRIOR TO HIS RETIREMENT

Major General Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps visited 2nd and 3rd Volunteer Battalions of the Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC), deployed respectively in Madawachchiya and Sandunpura areas during 13th October of 2024.

The visiting Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Major HHH De Silva Commanding Officer, 3 (Volunteer) Battalion of SLAWC at the entrance of the Battalion Headquarters at Sandunpura. Later, troops of 3 (V) SLAWC were accorded a Guard Turnout and the Colonel Commandant posed for a group photograph.

Afterward, the visiting Colonel Commandant addressed the troops of the battalion and discussed several administrative requirements after the Commanding Officers briefing at the main Office.

Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant visited the 2 (Volunteer) Battalion of SLAWC at Madawachchiya where Major SGM Premathilake Commanding Officer welcomed him amidst simple military formalities. During these visits addressing the troops the Colonel of the Regiment instructed them to elevate the standards of the profession while serving as soldiers and the officers of the Sri Lanka Army.

Brigadier Sanjaya Karunaratne Centre Commandant Regimental Centre, SLAWC, Colonel Suranaga Basnayake Deputy Centre Comandant RC SLAWC and Several Staff Officers of the RC SLAWC accompanied the Colonel Commandant’s visits.
