53 INFANTRY DIVISION (RSF) COMMEMORATES 30th ANNIVERSARY

The 53 Infantry Division (RSF), headquartered at Inamaluwa, Dambulla, commemorated its 30th Anniversary on Sunday 24th August 2025, at the Division Headquarters. The event was held in the presence of Major General GAT Godewatte RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding 53 Infantry Division (RSF).

Upon arrival, the GOC was received with a Guard Turnout followed by military formalities. A ceremonial tree planting was carried out at the Strikers Bay premises, where the GOC planted a mango sapling. He later participated in the All Ranks Dinner, which was followed by a musical show that marked the conclusion of day’s celebrations.

In parallel with the main event, a cricket tournament was conducted on 24th August 2025 as part of the anniversary celebrations. Prior to the main ceremony, a community cleaning effort was carried out at the Isipathanaramaya Temple in Inamaluwa, along with a Bodhi Pooja and charity programme on 22 August.
