SCHOOL EQUIPMENT DONATION PROGRAMME BY 1 CORPS

Under the guidance of the President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, 1 Corps organized a School Equipment Donation Programme at Kn/Thiruruvalluvar Primary School, Malayalapuram, on 7th November 2025. A total of 40 students from low-income families benefited from the programme by receiving essential school supplies. The President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment, Mrs. Samindi Wickramarathne, made a generous contribution towards the donation, further enhancing the success of the initiative. Major General KHMS Wickramarathne RSP, Commander of 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment – Commando Regiment, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Concluding the event, all students and parents in attendance were hosted for a tea session followed by delicious lunch packets, marking the end of a meaningful and heartwarming community engagement.
