OFFICIAL VISIT TO 1ST BATTALION THE VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY REGIMENT

Brigadier W.A.J. Hemachandra RSP, psc, Hdmc, the Commander of the Airmobile Brigade, paid his first official visit to the 1st Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, located at Thiriyai on 25 May 2025.

On his official visit, the Brigade Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and all the Officers of the 1st Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. He was subsequently given a comprehensive briefing by the Commanding Officer on the operational and administrative aspects of the unit.

Following the briefing, the Brigade Commander addressed all ranks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discipline and upholding the honour and reputation of the Sri Lanka Army and the Airmobile Brigade.

Planting of sapling and a group photograph was then taken with all Officers and Other Ranks to mark the significance of the visit. Afterwards, the Brigade Commander participated in a formal tea gathering with all Officers and Other Ranks and visited the camp premises.
