CELEBRATION OF THE 76TH ANNIVERSARY OF SRI LANKA
A commemorative ceremony of the 76th Army Day Programme was held at the 1 Corps Headquarters. The ceremony involved hoisting of the Army flag and singing of the Army Anthem. Afterwards, a poignant two-minute silence was observed, which enabled all to salute and recall the war heroes
who laid down their lives in the ultimate service of the Mother Land.
Then, the message that was made by the Commander of the Army, particularly on the grand occasion of the 76th Army Anniversary, was formally conveyed to maintain the awareness among All Ranks of the organization.
As a secondary activity to the event, there was also a coconut planting programme which was conducted in the premises of the 1 Corps Headquarters. All the Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staff participated to the said event.
