ASSUMED DUTIES COMMANDER SPECIAL FORCE BRIGADE

On February 11, 2025, Colonel GWEK Ganegoda RWP RSP USP of the Special Forces Regiment Formally Assumed his Duties as the 18th Commander of the Special Forces Brigade during a ceremonial ceremony held at headquarters special forces brigade – vavuniya.

He was welcomed at the brigade headquarters with a traditional guard turnout, and the senior staff officer of the special forces brigade, lieutenant colonel kavinda abewardana RWP RSP USP, provided him with a thorough briefing on the present state of special forces brigade. All the commanding officers each special forces battalion participated in this glamorous event.

In honour of his achievement as brigade commander, he planted a sapling on the grounds of headquarters. Commander sf brigade addressed the special forces brigade soldiers at the lecture hall. He then went to the officer s mess for lunch and concluded the official ceremony.
