5 VIR TROOPS COMPLETE BATTALION TRAINING AT KATUKELIYAWA TRAINING SCHOOL

5th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops recently completed their Battalion Training Course at Battalion Training School in Katukeliyawa from 19 Feb to 08 April 24 with 14 Officers and 301 Other Ranks.

Major General HDWKN Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of 58 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the closing remarks before awards and trophies were awarded to the achievers.

Commander of 581 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also took part in the awarding ceremony. Notable achievements of course attendees are as follows:

Best Student & Best Shooter – Capt WBSPG Fernando (O/71059).

Best in Physical Fitness – S/520534 Cpl Madduma Bandara RMAG.

Best Company - Alpha Company.

Best Platoon – Second Platoon of A Company.

Best Section – First Section of Second Platoon, A Company.
